All Paths

One of the challenges Christianity faces today is the revival and promotion of the notion that “all paths lead to God.” What that means is, a belief that different nations, throughout time, have developed their own concept of what God is and who God is through their different religions, and that these are all legitimate paths leading to the same God. It’s the idea that these gods are all the same one spirit by different names.

One path to the truth
The Holy Bible teaches a different concept. All God’s and paths are not the same. There is only one true God.
Jesus brought the truth to mankind. That good and evil exist in the universe. Those pagan beliefs in idols and false gods are the sinful methods of evil forces trying to lead mankind away from the truth – the truth that there is only one true God.
Jesus said… “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
– John 8:32

One job for mankind
Jesus said that God has given mankind one job – to believe in Him.
“Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
– John 6:29

Why is Jesus the only true way to God?
Mankind’s sin has separated us from God. God’s Holiness prevents mankind from having communion with him. God cannot be in the presence of sinners. It is only through Jesus sacrifice, in paying the penalty for mankind’s sin, that mankind could be pardoned from it.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
– Mark 10:45

Because Jesus is the only human being who ever lived a sinless life, he was the only one able to pay the price for mankind. Because of the fall of man by Adam and Eve in the Garden, every human being thereafter is born into sin. We are literally born sinners – stained, infected with sin.
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people because all sinned.”
– Romans 5:12

Redemption through Jesus Christ
Unlike mankind, Jesus, being born of a virgin through immaculate conception. Jesus was not born into sin.
Therefore, Jesus must serve as our intercessor. Only with Jesus as our representative, can we be cleansed from sin and be made worthy to have communion with the Almighty God. All the good deeds in the world will not change or erase our sins. They must be forgiven through God’s grace, and God has determined this comes through the belief in his son Jesus Christ.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

Accept no imitations
“Jesus answered, ‘See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.’”
– Matthew 24:4-5

Jesus warned about the very thing we are seeing in the present day. There are forces trying to eliminate a belief in Christ by weakening His importance. The idea that “all paths lead to God” eliminates a need to believe in Christ. It is the very deception that Jesus Christ himself warned about. Scripture tells us that without a belief in Christ, there is no path to God. Christ is the only path to God, and without a belief in Christ we will not receive salvation, we will not be granted eternal life. “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true–in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
– 1 John 5:20

Scripture clearly tells us that there is no other path – accept no substitutions.
